Cyrtodium macrobulbon, from Greek kyrtos (curved) and podion (foot) in reference to the shape of the column. From Latin macrobulbon, refering to its well-developed bulbs. "Cuerno de vaca", "Cow horn", "Chacapezle" in Nahuatl and "Chit' och" in Yucatec Maya. Blooms from March to June. Flowers fall down after two weeks. Reproduces asexually.
