What language is for? Is the Ding-dong theory the best one explaining its origin? Is it genetically inherited? Were languages made to confound humanity when about to reach the Sky? Why the importance of preserving the almost 7, 000 indigenous languages of the World such as Maya, the most spoken in Mexico with almost 800k Maya speakers out of the 126M inhabitants in Mexico in 2020? And, why can only vocalizing animal especies dance?

From philosophers, linguistic anthropologists, the Bible, neuroscientists and more, last week we were invited to the graduation ceremony of this primary public school in the ruralities of Tulum as part of @Movida_Maya (as well as to eat #cochinitapibil in the afterparty). We listened to an elderly Mayan woman speaking in both her native Maya and Spanish, with the wisdom and grounded authority gained by years of raising new generations as daughter, Mother, teacher, Grandmother and area leader, advising parents of the recent graduates to take responsibility in the caretaking of their young ones, for them to read books and learn their native but also other languages, "as both can open them doors and allow them to understand other people".

On our last day contributing with Movida Maya AC, wanna thank Emiliano and every member for this year of practice and development of our "Culture and language workshop" with different groups of students in different locations. Thank you!
