Moises is a native Mayan that is passionate about his own culture. Like few, he studied "Alternative tourism" at the university, and like few, loves and keeps studying his native language the Yucatec Maya. He grew up as native men following their tradition, that is, while women take care of the household, men go to the jungle and the farm to provide their families with food. Roles complement rather than divide, remember. But also and just as few natives, he doesn't carries a rifle - natives being allowed by law to do so for hunting - instead, he carries his camera to register sightseeings contributing to scientifical statistics, and always, always, always... carrying his binoculars and a magnifying glass to study birds, insects, plants and so. This should also be part of the law, if so law entitles people to carry rifles and shoot for fun.
Lucky for us, he's part of our team, and he's in charge of our new @Airbnbexperiences "Birdwatching and storytelling with natives" https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/4355715
Please share out there with anyone you know that could be interested in such activities, for all ages, from academic groups to a bunch of friends looking for alternatives to soccer, box, or alike. No world dominance, no punching each other, no Messi here, no algorithms, just trekking and birdwatching. @leomessi you and your family can come anytime with us :)
Send us an email at mari@mexicotravellingcollective.com for any enquiries and bookings. Mari is also a new member of the team, we'll tell you more about her in the upcoming posts. She's also a native from the P'ure'pecha culture, perhaps you've heard of the Patzcuaro lake, where she grew up :)
