The Jarana is considered a Yucatec Mayan traditional dance, brought over from Spain's Aragonese "J" during the Colony, and this likewise from the Arabs, recognized as excellent observers of the sky, just as Mayans and many other native cultures around the globe.

What is to be admired is how dancers keep ennobling this tradition for over centuries, spining around like planets do, like birds of paradise attracting and repelling, the dualism, the microcosmos within the macrocosmos.

Come join us on our "Family and friends rural day experience", where we honor nature and human culture beyond odds and borders.
